You qualify for a CAWDA Rider Medal by meeting membership requirements and submitting the correct set of qualifying test scores. Here’s the process in a clean, step‑by‑step format so you can see exactly what’s required.
How to Qualify for a CAWDA Rider Medal
At its core, you must:
-
Be a current CAWDA and WDAA member at the time you apply
-
Submit two qualifying tests per level, from two different judges at two different CAWDA‑recognized or CAWDA Virtual shows
-
Earn the required minimum percentages for the medal level (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
-
Submit all four tests together when you apply
-
Pay the $15 processing fee per medal
You may use scores from 2014 onward, in any order, on any horses, as long as you were a CAWDA member when the scores were earned and you can provide the face sheets.
Step‑by‑Step: How to Apply for a CAWDA Rider Medal
1
Verify your memberships. Confirm you are a current member of both CAWDA and WDAA at the time you submit your medal application.
2
Collect qualifying test scores. Gather two tests per level from different judges and different CAWDA-recognized or virtual shows that meet the required percentages.
3
Confirm eligibility of past scores. Ensure any older scores (2014–present) include complete face sheets and were earned while you were an active CAWDA member.
4
Complete the online application. Fill out the Rider Medal form on the CAWDA website with rider name, level, score, show details, and judge information.
5
Upload all four test face sheets. Submit the complete face sheets for each qualifying test at the same time; CAWDA does not pull these from High Point submissions.
6
Pay the processing fee. Submit the $15 fee per medal to finalize your application.
7
Submit before the annual deadline. Apply by December 1 to receive your medal at the next CAWDA Awards & Recognitions Ceremony.
