⭐ CAWDA Rider Scholarship Program

Each year, CAWDA awards
three scholarships—one in each rider category:

  • Amateur

  • Junior/Youth

  • Trainer/Professional

Each scholarship provides up to $200 to support Western Dressage education, including:

  • Clinics

  • Lessons or training sessions with other trainers

  • Other approved Western Dressage educational opportunities

This program is designed to help riders at all levels continue developing their skills and deepen their involvement in the discipline.

✅ Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be a current CAWDA member

  • Fall into one of the three rider categories (amateur, junior/youth, or trainer/professional)

  • Use the scholarship funds specifically for Western Dressage training or clinics

Full eligibility details are in the CAWDA Rulebook: https://cawda.org/cawda-rulebook

📅 Application Window

Applications are accepted April 1 through April 30 each year.

This is a firm annual window, so riders typically prepare their materials ahead of time.

📝 How to Apply
  1. Review the complete rules in the CAWDA Rulebook

  2. Fill out the Rider Scholarship application (the form is provided on the CAWDA website)

  3. Submit the application during the April 1–30 window

📌 Additional Notes
  • Scholarships are awarded once per year

  • Only one rider per category is selected

  • Funds must be used for Western Dressage–specific education

  • This program is separate from CAWDA’s other awards and scholarships
